IMIM track

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) program International Master in Innovative Medicine(IMIM) is the joint program coordinated by four partner universites: University of Groningen, Heidelberg University, Uppsala University, and University of Tartu. It is a two-year program (120 ECTS), specifically designed to provide students multi- and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in foundational research, clinical investigation, and commercial application of innovative technologies. IMIM aims to educate new specialists that would be able to transfer existing and novel technologies from research laboratories to actual patients, and would have an overview of today’s patients needs to create new technologies to tackle them. Wide IMIM partners’ network would allow students to form much needed connections between academia and industry to encourage future cooperation. After completion of the program students receive a Double Degree.

During the studies, students study in two different partner universities. Depending on a student’s prior knowledge and preferences, the first year’s studies are located in either Heidelberg, Groningen, Uppsala, or Tartu. In the second year, students must change university to either Groningen, Uppsala, or Tartu. Moreover, students have an additional internship opportunities outside Europe in IMIM associate partner universities (e.g. Japan or Latin America).
